Progress is being made to revitalize Cedar Lake

Alliant Energy and the City of Cedar Rapids are currently in negotiations to transfer ownership of the lake. Public ownership opens the door to funding sources such as the DNR Lake Restoration Program, EPA Brownfield Funds and many more.
